What we offer

The HANC High School Driver Education Program is licensed and accredited with the New York State Department of Education and the New York State Department of Motor Vehicles.  All students successfully completing the course will receive an MV-285 Course Completion Certificate, which will give students full, unrestricted senior driving privileges upon turning 17 years old and passing a New York State road test. Students will also be eligible for automobile insurance discounts now and in the future.

Our Program

Our program follows all of the necessary New York State guidelines that all driver education programs must follow.  All of our in-car teachers are licensed by the State and use vehicles equipped with proper dual controls for safety.   Our classroom teachers are also licensed by New York State to teach the required theory instruction for driver education.

HANC Driver Ed has an excellent reputation and has operated out of the Hebrew Academy of Nassau County for over 50 years.  Tens of thousands of teens from all over Nassau, Suffolk and Queens have walked through our doors to become licensed, safe drivers.  We have been one of the largest, most successful programs in the entire State for decades.

Driving Lesson

Beginner Tips

-

It is recommended that drivers should have a minimum of 50 hours experience behind the wheel of an automobile before attempting to take a road test for a driver's license.  Driver Education will provide students with 6 hours of behind the wheel experience, which should be supplemented with additional training at home.  If parents are unable to give additional instruction themselves, then they should reach out to a licensed and reputable driving teacher or driving school in their neighborhood.
